Great idea as people are still looking and some programs have closed or don't have a way to get a place for help for Christmas.

Help may still be available!!!!

If there is any one out there still looking for help try looking up local churches in your area online and send an e-mail directly to the pastor. Tell him or her your situation and how many children you have along with your contact information. it is not a guarantee you will receive help but there is a good chance you will. I have already done this my self and am now receiving help for my children. Good luck to you all. Hope you all have a merry Christmas.

That's just wrong. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. As an ordained minister I definately don't condone it. Unfortunately we're still forming our church so it is just my husband and me with two children trying to reach out. We're pagan but we don't believe anyone should put a criteria of religion on helping their fellow man.

Please let me know what resources you need to find and I'll do my best to try to find them. We're in a tough spot as well, and can relate. I am staying home raising two children whilst I finish my masters degree and he's working and finishing his degree-so we're tight. However, some of this we've overcome simply by shifting our perspective on the season.

I've never done more then three gifts per person for our immeadiate family. The reason-even the Christ received no more then three gifts. If you're Christian this is an easy way to explain it. Even if you are not the story still holds true. It also takes the pressure off you to feel like you are somehow failing if you don't get everything on their list.

Keep in mind that children truly recall the memories of time spent with parents more then a boatload of toys. That one special toy may mean more over the years if it is given with love more then let us say the mass loads of toys being pushed on the television.

And nothing is wrong with the homemade gifts. I'm not sure how much you're able to budget but also consider shopping at resale stores and gifting clothing, and then saving for something special of one item they really want. I know that we as parents want to give our children everything this time of the year, it's natural. Know that it is your love though that will last a lifetime.

Let me know what I can do to help find resources.

 in response to mommymac...

just cant believe that people can be so hurtful. I have helped people all my life and the first time I reach out I get slapped in the face. I have faith and believe in the good in people. Its just so disappointing that there are people out there that have no good moral values. I will pray for them. Good luck hun and I will pray for you too. Thanks for reading my story.

IN SHOCK

I was suggested to post in digitalcharity.com about my situation. So, in which I did. I did receive 1 response. To my surprise its a scam. Not, only was it a scam. But its surprised me to how they went about to try and scam me. I sit here day after day and pray someone would help me. Instead I get someone that preys one people in need. The message I received was sapose to be from a Pastor. Wow, a Pastor. Telling me that their church will help. That they have a wealthy congregation that he is going to be contacting them to get me the money I need to get out of my situation. Here is the catch. I have to be a christian and share the money with other people. That they will be sending me a check or money order and after I cash it, I need to send some of the money (He didn't stipulate how much he is sending or how much that needs to be sent) to someone else that is on their list in needs. The site clearly says not to accept checks from anyone that it likely to be a scam. So, with that said I intend to keep playing the Pastor (ha) game and once I receive the check or money order I will be contacting the authorities so he gets whats coming to him or them. It breaks my heart that I reach out for help and I get someone that trys to hurt me and my family more than we are. I am trying so hard to believe that there are people out there willing to help. It hurts to see the first person to reach out wants to hurt me. Thank you for listening to me

Indian Pastors

By Bcmi-India - on May 21, 2008

These are all associaste pastors of Bcmi-India serving the Lord in remote, rural villages, where none will ever dare to go. These were men and women who were not Christians at all some years ago. None of them have a seminary degree or a missionary training. But they came through trails, persecutions and poverty. Each one of them have a live congrgations in villages where there have been no christrians before.

Bcmi-India is all out to train, to ordain, to financially support untill they are self supported, to provide motor bikes for ministry, to construct church buildiongs and to expand the ministry in all regions. Unity of the body of christ is the key to reach India in our generation.

Will you stand with this cause? Support us financially! visit us and train our pastors! give them motor bikes! Please! contact the Director  urgently.

Prison Ministry needs your help today

By Arkyfaith - on May 21, 2007... modified on May 21, 2007
Posted in Arkyfaith

Arkyfaith Church was conceived by the vision of Pastor Deborah M. Bailey to help lost souls find the true path to Christ, by having many outreach programs available. The church was open for operation in February 2004. Since that time it has became an outreach portal in the following areas:

Shut – INS
Youth groups
Prison Ministry
Mentoring program
Bible study by mail
Caring card ministry
Feeding the hungry worldwide
Christmas cards to the troops
Other charitable events

Our current project: Bibles for prisoners

Our plan is to reach prisoners worldwide and offer bibles and bible studies to those who are forgotten by society. Our project also includes our caring card ministry, which is our initial contact with such prisoners. A postcard and gospel tract is mailed to each prisoner. We acquire their names through varies means, prayer requests from loved ones, other churches or non profit organizations that work with prisons worldwide. The status of said prisoner is not of concern, meaning that any prisoner qualifies for our program. Once said prisoner has received his or her care card envelop a postcard already pre stamped and addressed to the church can be returned for our services.

Our problem lies within the means of financial donations which are currently limited and fall well below operating standards.

The purposed amount we are seeking with your particular institution is $1000. Our total yearly cost of this endeavor is estimated at a little over $72,000, especially with the rising costs of stamps and supplies. This amount is sure to double within the next 5 years.

Reaching he lost is our life mission. No one can be spared at any cost.

Thank you for your generous consideration and time

Pastor Deborah M Bailey
